The Guild of International Songwriters & Composers is an international music industry organisation of repute, is open to all songwriters, composers, lyricists, singers, poets, musicians, performing songwriters, bands, groups, DJs, producers, remixers, management companies, music publishers, indie record labels, in fact anyone working in music industry, or anyone wishing to establish themselves in the music industry, of any age, status or ability, from any country in the world, in fact, all those who are interested in songwriting, composing, lyric writing, performing, recording, producing, music publishing, managment, releasing recordings,etc.

4. "What is MCPS?" Information published by The Mechanical Copyright Protection Society MCPS. Royalties - The money you earn from songwriting, performing and recording music is paid by way of royalties. The MCPS information, published by MCPS, explains the function of the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society, the information contained therein may save or even make you some money. It is essential reading for songwriters, composers, artistes, publishers, managers, etc. It also explains how you become a member of MCPS.

5. “What is PRS?” Information published by the Performing Right Society (PRS), which is the UK rights body of songwriters, composers and music publishers. It administers the performing right in their music and pays money to songwriters, composers and publishers by way of royalties. Information containing invaluable information. It also explains how you can become a member of PRS.

6. An index listing of UK music publishers Giving names, addresses and telephone numbers of some of the top music publishers working in the United Kingdom.

7. An index listing of UK record companies Giving names, addresses and telephone numbers of some of the top record companies working in the United Kingdom.

8. An index listing of UK legal advisers / law firms Giving names, addresses and telephone numbers of legal advisers / law firms specialising in music industry law.

9. Song Structure fact sheet An important fact sheet giving information and details on song structure, explaining repetition, balance and form.

10. Information on Songsearch Monthly - Songsearch Monthly is an international monthly newsletter, published by Song and Media Promotions, containing specialised information on record companies, publishers and producers seeking songs for publishing and artistes for recording, and licensing of master recordings of singer-songwriters and artistes, and other info.

11. Setting up a music publishing company fact sheet An essential fact sheet on do-it-yourself publishing and setting up your own publishing facility. Contains valuable information on how to contact royalty organisations (whose brochures you will receive with your membership pack) who collect and distribute money for the use of songwriters, lyricists’ and composers’ works. The fact sheet also contains other important and valuable information. If you wish to set up your own record label, this info fact sheet also gives you a contact with music publishing personnel at our offices who can assist you with information on setting up your own record label, if required, and help you with further information on setting up your own publishing facility - all free within the Guild’s membership advice services facility.

12. The Guild of International Songwriters & Composers demo service information and details of the Demo Recording Service, which also contains other valuable information for lyricists and melody writers.

13. Song and Media Promotions fact sheet giving details on how you can be assisted with setting up your own record label, help with manufacturing of records, compact discs and cassettes and origination of artwork, and assistance with the publishing of your songs, along with other information.

14. General promotion advice fact sheet giving essential information on promotion to artistes, publishers, producers, record companies etc.

15. The Guild of International Songwriters & Composers welcome letter explaining how to use all the FREE services such as the FREE Copyright Service and the FREE Assessment Service and the other FREE member services

Over £545m of songwriting and publishing royalties were paid to PRSforMusic songwriter, composer and publisher members in 2010. For the first time PRSforMusic's revenue has topped £600 million, which is an amazing achievement. PRSforMusic’s record results have seen: Licensing revenue growth of 8% on 2009. Double digit growth in three of our four licensing areas effective licensing of new online services Growth of 9% in net distributable revenue on 2008.

The PRSforMusic's July 2011 distribution totalled just over £91million. In total the PRSforMusic July 2011 distribution contained more than 2,274 separate usage sources, generating 126million transactions. There were some 35million unique performanmces
during the quarter made up of 674,905 distinct works to include Guild members works.

The PRSforMusic October 2011 royalty distribution totalled just over £127 million to its publisher and writer members. In total the October 2011 royalty distribution contains more than 2,400 separate usage sources, generating 109 million transactions. There were some 37 million unique performances during the quarter, made up of more than 8000,000 distinct works.

Songwriting and publishing royalties are a substantial source of income.
